Suitable for only a few.
I owned this car for 4yrs. It is low on running cost. Cost of spares and battery replacement is very high. It offsets the savings in low running cost. Net savings fall greatly short of company claims over a period. Only slightly better than conventional fuel cars. Very convenient for point to point commuting. Automatic transmission is really relaxing. Requires proper planning of trip. Less margin for deviations. Daily running is necessary to keep batteries healthy. A gap of a day or two may result in reduction of range. It cant be kept idle for long. Good for short city trips. Drive train rattles after some use. Drive is noisy enough to dowse radio music. Visibility for turning right is uncomfortable. Suspension is not comfortable. Ride quality equals auto rikshaw. Regen breaking works only at slow to medium speeds. Sometimes car accelerates instead of slowing down. Got to be very attentive in busy traffic. State of charge meter on instrument panel is not to be trusted. Doors require real good banging to shut properly. Window glasses being sliding type, give very confined ventilation. Maintenance support is weak. Depends heavily on Bangalore. Build of the car is clumsy. Requires skilled technician. Battery pack is one big botheration. Can hear the noise of chemical reaction from under the seat. Distilled water to be fed promptly. Though it never let me down on road, but gave me creeps many times. Battery power goes low after some use. Clear loss of power on inclinations. Breaks get noisy after rain. Seat belt is good. Body panels are dent proof but not scratch proof. Resale value is next to nothing. Improvements required : 1.Power pack to be reliable and efficient. 2.Suspension to give smooth ride. 3.Drive train to be robust and noiseless. 4.Company owned servicing centers required. 5.Cost of power pack replacement to be reduced. 6.Price tag of car to be reduced by 50% for affordability. 7.Exchange offers to switch to new models. If one does'nt care about these, go ahead and get adventurous. I sold mine. read more

Reva battery pack
This reletes to Reva car battery pack. the main problem to lead acid problem is sulfation. we are working on last 3 years and wehave been able to revive 4 reva battery packs to almost new condiion. The reva uses either Trojan or exide battery pack. The Trojan is too good we can revive battery pack within one day we also have preventive inst for battery life enhancement. girish 93222 86745 read more

Nice car
Overall the Reva is an extremely nice car to drive in city traffic conditions. The lack of gears and an electric motor instead of an engine mean the Reva gets out of traffic conditions with relative ease and is much less stressful to drive in the city. The A/C is very effective and the quality of the built in stereo is very good. Overall if you don't mind the high initial cost, it's a very nice second car for city driving conditions. read more

Good only for less than 60km per day
Very good product, good thing Mahindra has done. If you daily run is less than 50km, go for it - u will save tons of money. Else, give it a pass! read more
