The Outlander, perfect fit for our crappy roads.
The first thing that struck me as i approached the oultander from the rear is its surprising similarity to the innova, but thats where it ends.the front end is masculine and elegant at the same time with none of the fussy nut job that honda did with the CRV. The interiors are well appointed with an easy to read red backlit instrument cluster and a multi function display between the tacho and speedo. Centre console houses a premium 6 disc sound system the climate control. Mitsubishi also provided a console box on top of the dash for storage but its seems to be an afterthought the lid is made of very cheap plastic and doesn't even sit well when its shut. Seats are fairly comfortable but could do with more hip room for the front passangers. The 2.4 litre variable timing engine is the same as the sonata embera, not quite as refined as the CRV, but fun to drive, alas we are not getting the V6 for india. There is a CVT gear box along with paddle shift for when you're in the mood. good thing being the paddle shift is attached to the steering column and not the wheel like in most other cars, so one always knows the shifters are in the turns. neat. The Outlander is a capable vehicle for what its been designed to do, perfect for our bad roads and wet conditions and city driving, without having to live with a clatter and vibrations of a diesel ( no matter what they may tell you )and not being less that 21.5 lacs anywhere most buyers may not have mileage as a primary concern. Its perfect alternate for the CRV and the horrendous Honda after sales service, trust me i know, i drive an accord. read more
