The Maruti Eeco was launched in 2010 and is a basic means of affordable transport. The exterior of the EECO is more on the lines of the Versa. The dimensions of the new car are quite similar to the Versa albeit with a revised height. The subtle headlamps with humble little tail lamps make it appear quite decent.Basic comfort is what would appear initially in your mind and you won’t be wrong as the interiors carry the same no frills design as the car’s exteriors. A decent dashboard with A/C controls and vents are in the limelight on the center console along with a humble yet useful speedo that tells you how fast you’re going. The plastics are of good quality with a fair feel. Cabin space has been utilized in such a way that it makes the EECO a car with loads of headroom, legroom and boot space.It is powered by a 1.2-litre G-Series engine which is a brand new motor from Maruti.

The 1200cc mill develops 75PS of power and 101Nm of torque. You can get a mileage of 16 kmpl and even more with the CNG version! The 1200cc mill develops 75PS of power and 101Nm of torque. This is transferred to the rear wheels via a five-speed gearbox with Diagonal Shift Assist, which the manufacturer claims makes the shifts smoother. Power delivery is quite smooth and the engine is capable of pulling the car nicely even at low speeds in the fifth gear.The McPherson struts up front and a three-link rigid rear suspension is a bit hard, but it is capable of absorbing the bumps and ditches on the road quite well. Thus though comfort is not fantastic, the ride is decent. Maruti Eeco Interior Side view

Basic comfort is what would appear initially in your mind and you won’t be wrong as the interiors carry the same no frills design as the car’s exteriors. However, the steering appears to be a bit dull. The plastics are of good quality with a fair feel. The interiors don’t give the rich feel of wood or leather, but don’t appear to be cheap either. Cabin space has been utilized in such a way that it makes the EECO a car with loads of headroom, legroom and boot space. Another thing that the EECO offers is excellent comfort which makes it an ideal car for long journeys or for ferrying goods.

Interiors Details

Boot space

The boot space offered in Eeco is 540 litres that is pretty descent and provides with ample space to store a lot of luggage for bigger families.

Speedometer

The speedometer is analog with a digital fuel indicator but the tachometer is absent from the console.

Gear lever

The gear lever is small and helps in swift gear changing due to the diagonal shifting and is without any leather covering.

Cup holders

Cup holders are absent both from the front and the rear gates in all the models.

Maruti Eeco Tail lamp

The exterior of the EECO is more on the lines of the Versa. However, its angular lines differentiate it from the Versa which was a tad curvier than the EECO. The dimensions of the new car are quite similar to the Versa albeit with a revised height. The subtle headlamps with humble little tail lamps make it appear quite decent. The overall exteriors of the EECO are well-executed and lend the car a subtle look which won’t make you feel embarrassed when standing next to it.

Exteriors Details

Front design

The front has lens head lamps, plastic bumpers and plastic grill with a Suzuki badge and a flatter design.

Rear design

The rear has lens tail lamps, a wider wind screen and a unique of its kind vertical design

Side profile

Side profile is a bit sporty with graphics coming as a standard feature that have helped a lot in improving the looks and feel of the vehicle

The ground clearance is quite good with 160mm that ensures safe and bump free ride

However, when you have to tackle an incline you need to rev the car a bit more just to keep the momentum going. The EECO doesn’t feature a power steering, however, the conventional rack and pinion unit is quite smooth and doesn’t feel heavy at all.

Handling

The handling of the car is good with ventilated discs and drum and the suspension also ensures a jerk free ride.

Braking performance

Front ventilated disc brakes and rear drum brakes stop the car very quickly and in a very short distance.

Safety features

Side beams are given for collision protection and child lock with seat belts in both front and rear.

ABS

Anti lock braking system (ABS) is not required as the vehicle doesnt attain so much speed

Traction control

Traction control is not given in any of the models of Eeco

The car is quite comfortable with heater and air conditioner that works well according to the outside temperature, head rests, comfortable seats and rugged suspension that gives a jerk free ride.

Front suspension

McPherson strut is given in the front as the engine is in the front

3 link rigid suspension is in the rear of the vehicle as it can go for heavy loading also

Pros good mileage,good engine

Cons uggly looks and bad interiors,zero comforts,more of a ac bus

it has a very good engine, and the torque is impressive... but no comforts ... no power steering to... after giving such an engine why no power steering... tooooooo bad

Pros Excelent budget car with AC

Cons Look

I have purchased the car from Sivakasi, Solamalai Motors last month and take a trip to Thiruchendur about 300 km. to and fro. Excellent driving comfort with a mileage of 15kmliter. My family members of 5 adult and 3 children enjoyed the trip with EECO. A best budget car for big families.

MARUTI EECO POOR DELIVERY PROMISE

Pros good spacing power ac road view multy utility

Cons high price poor delivery promise keeping

good in every respect, company has taken effort and planning of VERSA upgradation,very poor keeping up of their PROMISED DATE OF DELIVERY ! booking date to delivery is 6weeks and they anounce a delay of almost 2months,ridiculous!fraud!little delay of 1-2 weeks is acceptable,but are the big gaint car makers insane to inform a delay of more than double the promised !!AN INFACTUATION DRIVE TO CREATE HIGHER DEMAND OVERVALUATION !

after converting 7 seater as CNG will warranty be remain on.
