Expert Test Review
The interior is functional and focussing more on practicality side. The design is clearly picked up whole-sale from the Verito sedan. So that means it has comfortable interiors. Just like the Verito sedan the Vibe is spacious and has excellent headroom and legroom. In fact the Verito Vibe will be one of the most spacious cars in its class beating the Toyota Etios Liva in this regard too. This is something that will appeal to many. The design of the dash and material quality is pretty much same with the Verito sedan so its slightly plain looking but functional. It has a 330 lit boot space and has 3 adjustable rear headrests. There are three variants with D2, D4 and D6. The top model has 2 DIN music system with CD/USB/MP3/Aux-in and two-tone upholstery. There is no steering controls or Bluetooth.
The boot capacity of Vibe is 330 litres which is quite high
The speedometer of the Verito Vibe looks futuristic and trendy
The gear lever is well within the reach of the driver on the Verito Vibe
The glovebox is fitted in the dashboard and is quite spacious.
As you can see from the pictures it seems that Mahindra have made a big effort to make the Verito Vibe attractive. It is not just a job of cutting the boot of a Verito sedan as you can see. It looks like a hatch however with a fixed rear windscreen and the fact that the boot is opened sedan style with the boot lid at the bottom of the windscreen, it is actually a compact sedan. This is a clever move as instead of shrinking the boot it has been shaped like a hatch which means space and legroom will be as good as the Verito sedan. The first thing that hits you when you look at the rear is the large tail-lamps which look attractive and big tail-gate. The rear bumper is also neatly finished plus as you can see you get roof-rails. However what is slightly disappointing is that from the front it has the same front end as the Verito sedan save for some minor tweaks like carbon-finished front grille, smoked headlamps and dual-tone rear bumper.
While the rear looks smart, taking a walk around the front reveals that the bean counters at Mahindra seemed to have it their way. The front and side is pure Verito sedan and nothing major has been done to the rest which is slightly disappointing as the front and the rear end seem to be divorced from each other and have no design connection. The only changes include the smoked headlamps and carbon finished grille.
Walk up to the Vibe and on first account, it seems to be a good looking hatchback when viewed from the rear. The design influences like the large LED (first in class) tail-lamps are all pointing towards it being a hatch.
The side profile of the Vibe is a hatch and not seem like a sedan
The tail lamp is well designed and fits the rear design of the car beautifully and are LED
On the engines expect the same diese unit as in the Verito sedan. The Verito Vibe will have only a diesel option in its range and there will be no petrol option because Mahindra currently do not have a small petrol engine in its portfolio. It will be powered by the 1.5 litre Renault K9K diesel engine and as we have discovered in other applications it is decent to drive and very economical to boot. It has 64 bhp which means you will wish for more horses.

Just like the sedan the Verito Vibe is not that much of a handler but is decent and stability is good. In safety terms it has ABS with EBD, Driver Airbag, Cross-member located in the boot for extra protection in the rear and Side - impact beams.
Handling Braking & Safety Details
When it comes to handling the Verito Vibe just like the sedan is quite predicable and though not as fun or a nimble as the Swift or Dzire it feels well planted on the road.
Vibe braking is good
Vibe has a decent list of safety features
Vibe has ABS with EBD
Vibe does not have traction control
Just like the sedan the Verito Vibe rides very well and soaks up the bumps better than many of its rivals. Guess the handling has been traded for this.
Comfort & Suspension Details
The best part of the Verito Vibe is its ride which is super and just absorbs everything thrown at it. The ride is easily the best in class and all the bumps and potholes are just gobbled up with ease.
front suspension has Macpherson-type with wishbone link
rear suspension has H-Section torsion beam with programmed deflection-coil spring
