Hyundai Accent Front View

The Hyundai Accent was Hyundai's first attempt at the midsize segment in India and even today is doing decent numbers due to its value. The design has aged and does not have the pizazz of the other Hyundai cars. The grille and headlights give a smiling face, the rear is short and neatly laid out rear lights look good. The side view is plain but there is nothing to complain about. The size of the Accent is good and it has presence size wise. The Accent measures in overall length of 4250mm, width of 1670mm and height of 1370mm.The Hyundai Accent's interiors are practical but also now its showing its age. But it is a roomy and also decently equipped cabin. The design is fairly basic but less curves and not as futuristic as the new Hyundai cars. The steering wheel looks good and the centre console is logically laid out and with basic features.

The driving position is good too. On the features front it is extremely basic and there is no audio ssytem which might be a tad too basic considering its a sedan. The Accent comes with ususal features Air conditioning, power steering, power steering. One important feature it has is a tilt steering. The boot and rear space is good. The Hyundai Accent is powered by a 1.5 litre engine 1495 cc engine which makes a respectable 95 PS of power. The engine is good enough in city but as the Accent is a pretty big car out on the highways it feels sluggish and runs out of steam easily. It makes torque of 125 Nm at 3500 rpm which is good and in city it shines as low end performance is satisfactory and your are not let hunting for gears. The Accent will deliver 11-13 kmpl combined and the LPG version delivers more or less the same.

The Accent LPG obviously is more cheaper to run and overall makes a better buy.The Hyundai Accent has suspension comprising at mac pherson strut with coil spring & stabilizer bar at front and dual link with coil spring & anti roll bar at rear. The ride is one of the strong points of the Accent and it handles bad roads with ease. The suspension is soft and swallows most bumos without much filtering it in the cabin. Refinement levels are also decent. The Accent handles decently though now in presence of newer cars it is outclassed. When launched it had very good handling when compared to its then rivals, but now the handling is average at best. Overall its a value car as it gives big car feeling for little money.

Pros: Elegant design, Big car feel, Good looking interiors, Available with LPG
Cons: Getting dated now, Lacks performance, Lacks features, Rivals more modern

Outdated Car
By Posted on Jan,01,18 9:11 AM

Pros Good power, Interiors

Cons Outdated

Hi, I bought my Hyundai Accent in June 2008, this car I had bought after researching on the contemprories available in the market, like, Swift Desire, Logan, Aveo etc, I had been driving a fully loaded version of Hyundai Santro and was really impressed with the after sales service and reliability of Hyundai vehicles, therefore, opted this one. Now I realize that its better to go in for the kind of cars which have the variants available and also not becoming outdated, I realized that basic features like central locking were missing and the quality with this car and previous ones was beyond comparison, literally, the wood grain interior was not upto the mark and one of the tail lights had moisture in the same, I used my contacts in Hyundai to get the problems fixed, although the same took onw and a half months for the wood grain console to be replaced but I realized that the quality deteriorates with the passage of time. So I would suggest to look at the alternatives available in the market as well before purchase of this car, although this car had queened the segment at some point of time, but with Hyundai Verna is not selling in petrol, this car is being relied on by the consumers still in the petrol. Regards,

Hyundai Accent - Great Used Car Option!
By Posted on Jul,07,16 2:44 PM

Pros Great Resale Value, Good Service Network, Easy to Drive

Cons Outdated Looks, Outdated Engine

I purchased a second hand Hyundai Accent a few months ago and have been driving the car for a while...The car is excellent in terms of driveability. Getting it repaired at any Hyundai Showroom is also easy and I was impressed with the Service Network..Also the resale value of the car is excellent..My recommendation - Purchase the Hyundai Accent Second Hand blindly..but if you are looking at purchasing a new car within that segment look at other options with newer technology and better fuel efficiency.
