Originally launched in November 2005, the Fiesta turned out to be a decent performer from Ford. The car was instantly a hit due its comfort and big car factor and the economical diesel unit further impressed its customers. However, over the years, the sales started dropping due to better rivals and hence in April 2011, a rebadged Fiesta with the Classic tag was introduced with a reduced sticker price. Infact, the Ford Fiesta Classic also makes way for the all-new Fiesta that is scheduled to be launched by Aug / Sep 2011.

The Ford Fiesta Classic is basically the same good old Fiesta though with minor changes like new interiors with Ebony and Jasper Blue instrument panel, centre and floor console finished in Graphic Metallic, new seats, trims and a new badge. The pricing too has been reduced drastically and infact, the base petrol model is even cheaper than the original base petrol model that was launched in November 2005! The interiors of the Fiesta Classic continue to be a strong point with good quality and high comfort factor. Driving the Fiesta Classic is a joy and the 1.6-litre petrol motor is one of the best engines in the Rs 5-6 lakh category. The 1.4-litre diesel engine on the other hand is known for its good low end torque and impressive fuel economy.

The Ford Fiesta Classic is sold in six versions –three each of petrol and diesel, namely the LXI, CLXI and SXI. The pricing of the new Fiesta Classic petrol starts at Rs 5.49 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and Fiesta Classic diesel starts at Rs 6.48 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) needless to say, makes for one great buy!

Expert Speak: At this price, the Fiesta Classic offers a lot! Definitely a good buy with exciting performance from the petrol engine and impressive economy from the diesel engine.

Front design

The front is where Ford has put in brains well and it looks inspiring. Body coloured radiator grille in front gives stylish looks. The Ford logo in centre is quite appealing. The roof endorses an antenna in the front giving the sedan its required aerodynamics. The muscular bonnet effortlessly mixes brawn with beauty.

Rear design

Rear suspension

Pros Love the looks, sexy pickup in the diesel version, great fuel efficiency

Cons Left hand side controls,

I would rate the diesel version of the Fiesta on par or better than any other diesel car in its class. While not as peppy as a Hyundai Verna it definitely has enough oopmh to have fun. The diesel vehicle also gives suprisingly high fuel efficiency of nearly 17kmpl given the size of the vehicle. Having the indicator on the left hand side of the driving wheel is a pain though. I keep flicking on the wiper instead of the indicator. Leg room at the back is not that good especially if the front seats are pushed back. Overall it is a good car and I personally rank it better than the Verna

Pros great mileagegreat power

Cons interiors could be better,suspension is bit too soft to clear the humps

This is a good value for money powerful mid size sedan with great fuel economy and packs a punch on the highway.Comfortable pull even on gradients and no engine tanking.Easily does 16kmpl in City to 20 Km in highway usage with ac.Very comfortable self drive.

Good build and sturdy car

Pros Lean and mean

Cons Fords heritage is revealed

After a clocking a lac kilometers in my Feista 1.4 Diesel SXI im quite impressed with its performance. The ticker ticks @ 18-20 Kmpl still. Driving is a pleasure on the highway. Smooth over rough roads but careful the strut bearings do not take hard beatings. I got them replaced twice. Suspension is soft and gives a floaty feel. I suggest 195 x 14x 60 Micheline would offset the meandering feel above 120KMPH.It also helps the feista to stay glued to the road. Maintenance will pinch at times when statutory change are made. Get an extended warranty. It really helps!!!. The interiors reflect quality and pedigree of Ford. The negative aspect of the fiesta is in the back seat. Its a BENCH. The reclining angle is stiff. Long distance on the back seat is a terrible punishment. Otherwise a good value for your money

this was my second car......my first car was swift ...i bought this car as i heard about it ........ seriously this car has realy shatterd my expectations .............so plzzz i cud suggest not 2 buy dis car ......
