Editorial Review of Audi A5
Audi is planning to launch its new 2012 versionAudi A5 Sportback in the India luxury car market soon later this year. The Audi A5 Sportback will create a new niche segment in India just like the company's A7 offering did a few months back.
Being a Sportback, the A5 will offer the best of both the worlds. It is the best possible combination of a sedan and an estate model. From the front, the A5 looks like any other Audi saloon but take your eyes to the rear and you see the differences. The coupe like sloping roofline gives it a very sporty look that is sharp, seducing and very sexy. The cabin is expected to be laden with features and high class comfort.
Audi will be looking at launching the A5 in the Indian market by the end this year at prices starting somewhere around the Rs 35 lakh. The A5 is likely to be available in four variants with both diesel and petrol engine options that will be mated to Audi's automatic transmission. The top end petrol model is expected to come with Audi's famed 4-wheel drive or the Quattro all-wheel drive system. The Audi A5, if launched, will also fill the gap between the company's two offerings, the A4 and the A6
